I used to follow you blog 3 years ago...bumped into it today! Google is pure magic :).

Felt the same way about Raavan...But can never hate Mani's movie. For me he is a genius!

I am a big fan of Mani Ratnam ...

I have read quiet a few reviews of the movie Ravan, most were critical but U were sympathetic (I hope I got it right ... )

I guess I will skip this movie ...

With every twist in Hanuman’s sagging tail becoming bloody obvious.

you just couldn't resist that one, could you :)

And I agree, if one has to re-imagine Ramayan, why not go all the way like Nina Paley (or even Star Wars?)

I am not a big fan of what comes of out of mani's view binder..His locations, props etc look like an interior designer's imagination of how it ought to be. If you remember Ayutha Ezhuthu, maddy's slum house will have wooden spoons in the right symmetry hung on the wall, like how I would do in my modular kitchen..

Never liked his epic/topic inspired movies. Not this. Not the previous. Will her ever bring back Mouna ragam or Alai Payuthe?

If you have the stomach for another (light hearted) review of this film, drop by at my blog..

I've just skipped seeing the film. I think I had my stomach's fill just from reading all the reviews. The posters and promos were so unappealing.

You are right.. i watched the tamil version. I just thought that there was no chemistry between any of the characters... it looked as if they were all in a one man/woman drama reading out their dialogues.. and i felt no emotion passed on to me as a viewer... and ash, with no make up and that blank look... i love that look

Aish's Ragini - not even a ghost of a moral compass - she's more like a mural timepass

Sequel - Yikes !! Please don't even think of such gory things !

Almost Amusing that AB Sr is screaming to all and sundry about how the editing was bad and whatnot - as if that can mask Aby Baby's wooden performance
