Look Ma, I finished the dissertation!

Ze dissertation is over. At long last. It has been printed. Bound. The electronic copy uploaded. Now I shall go and hand in the physical evidence of my time wasting tactics to the department. I find it hard to believe that my Masters is over so soon. Compared to the effort it took in TISS, this feels like making sambhar. It remains to be seen if I actually manage to get my degree.

On another note, I managed to get a 25% discount on printing and binding charges. Which makes a difference when you’re printing these many sheets. I got the discount because while the binding was in progress I asked the Print Shop guy if he was from Trinidad. The Trinidadian accent is unmistakably beautiful. It’s almost like he was singing while asking me what kind of binding I preferred. I told him I thought the Trinidadian accent was lovely. He told me that just for that lovely comment, I would get a 25% discount.

I think I am going to start mastering the art of recognizing accents, it might get more discounts.

The anti-climactic feeling you will experience is perfectly natural (says the veteran of 4 theses, of varying sizes; yes, some people never learn).

  22. Thank you all. Now that I have some real free time on my hands – I have no idea what to do with it. As for reading it – i staunchly refuse – it’s one of the worst things I’ve ever written – badly constructed, and hastily put together.. I still want to be appreciated for some skills you know! :)

  23. Amey says:

Good to know that you finished your dissertation without deserting. We are all hoping you get your just desserts (in a good way). :)
