Poem: Woman from Yesterday

He’s playing with his food,
and telling her about this
very intelligent (and so
deliciously funny) woman
he met yesterday.

She nods, enthusiasm
glinting in her eyes. He
tells her even more about
this woman, so so so
funny. He says.

She’s not the jealous
type, he’s grateful. It
is liberating. He had
always wanted a broad.
Minded partner.

She breaks
her soupstick in two,
wishing it was his neck.

  1. good one, as always!

most of us are paragons of virtue. very rational, open, understanding and loving. thats the way we see ourselves.

but dig a little deeper, push us into a corner or ask some of the people who don’t think too much about us and the picture is totally different :-)

  2. and i liked the bit about him wanting a ‘broad’. wicked :-)

    one would almost miss it!

  3. He had
    always wanted a broad.
    Minded partner.

cleverly written…probably he knew that she would ‘mind’ it

  6. Really liked this one, Neha. Especially the last bit about the soupstick, it was unexpected and therefore made the poem interesting!

Poem was damn good. he always wanted a “broad minded partner” ,that sums it all.
