Poem: Two Flowers

IMG_6038

She’s giggling, and telling me
that the day is beautiful. A
small girl looks adorable, tiny
dog is licking an ice cream. I
have every reason to be
happy. Everything is beautiful.

I then see these two flowers,
and say, “They look like they
just committed bloody suicide”.

Hair gone astray, something
like a leg dangling. Yes, they
hung themselves in despair.

  3. Lalita says:

Hmm. I wish you hadn’t mentioned the dog. A dog, any dog. It is not fair to them. They are ecstatically happy with their lives most of the time. I will refrain from mentioning that we trained them to be what they are; the dogs, that is, not the flowers, though we are sinners there too.

  4. Its disturbing, but made me smile anyway..its so irony at its best!

  5. Lotus says:

Those flowers are gorgeous even in their despair.

Nice poem…it shows me how a mood can change in an instant.

  6. dipali says:

Neha- why the gloomy perspective? Just what are the damn flowers, by the way? ( They look like exotic relatives of the hibiscus family).

  7. Yuva says:

may be photo is not complete– flowers are looking down to throw/share honey with a soul siting down..may be.. or just that iam crazy
