good gowda it is!
They forgot Madduru!!
I hope the vada-sellers of Maddur don’t get offended and start serving cold, rock-hard vadas.
I thought it was Mysooru as reported by TOI Oct-9th. Was the numerology valid only for Bengalooru ?
Oh my godu was hilarious!
Am wondering whether they will change silkboard in bangalore as silukku boardu
As long the Mysuru Pak and Mysuru Bonda continues to taste the way it is supposed to, it will be all very gooodu.
Speaking of names/ cities, a search done by me with the string, looking for – madras eye name origin, makes Google put your Blog on the top!
Thank god. There were no blogs during the period when Wandiwash,Madura, Ootacamund, Courtallum, Ramnad, Tanjore, Trichinopoly, Chingelpet, Covelong, Gingee were changed to Vandavasi, Madurai,Udhagamandalam, kutralam, Ramanathapuram, Thiruchirapalli, Chengalpattu, Kovalam and Chenji respectively.
poor kannadigas :-)
I think with the number of Bongs we have, it’s highly appropriate that the word ” Bengal ” appears in the new name.
Perhaps we can change the name to Calcutta instead, now that THAT’s available.
:-)
Neha: I have serious objections against IBN and you. Not only do you introduce me to places that I didn’t even know existed, and with such unlikely names (how can there be a place called Kalburgi even? or Hubballi), you also tell me that their names have been changed now! What am I supposed to do now?
Er.. sorry. Don’t mind, but couldn’t resist. :D
Mysuru is close to a ‘ketta varthai’ in Thamizh. And Karnataka itself is a Thamizh word meaning ‘the place of meaningful plays’.
What a storm in a teakappu!
And you are joblessu…
its a storm in a tea cup!! vetti bloggers making a huge issue out of it.
all the peters and marys like englipis sounding names i guess. i don see the problem in reverting back to the original names, big deal, doesnt make an iota of difference, except maybe to englipis peters.
kumaraswamy needs to garner votes, is therefore harping on kannidiga pride, all TN politicians did that, whats wrong with that?
