Fried Coke etc.

I am not busy or overwhelmed by work. If anything, I am overwhelmed at how skilled I am at wasting time on irrelevant things. As for temporary distractions, I am amazed by this one,

A new fast food is making its debut at U.S. fairs this fall — fried Coke.

Abel Gonzales, 36, a computer analyst from Dallas, tried about 15 different varieties before coming up with his perfect recipe — a batter mix made with Coca-Cola syrup, a drizzle of strawberry syrup, and some strawberries.

Balls of the batter are then deep-fried, ending up like ping-pong ball sized doughnuts which are then served in a cup, topped with Coca-Cola syrup, whipped cream, cinnamon sugar and a cherry on the top.

God knows I am tempted by unhealthy food, but this is too *shudder* for even strong-stomached super women like me.

  1. You got to give him credit though. He tried 15 different times, maybe this thing will turn out to be tasty. I just don’t want to be there during the preparation time.

  2. *shudder* As if Coke wasn’t bad enough. Humans need salt but this sugar fest is so unnecessary. We don’t need such infusions of sugar, it’d keep a Neanderthal or a Cro-Magnon going for days, it would.

So if women are meat and men are fried coke, does that make the kids french fries?

  4. Kids are just the icing on the fried coke, no?

So much for Americans trying to lose weight. This thing is going to take off and provide another fillip to shows like the Biggest Loser.

  5. Ashish: Oh.. If you insist!

Lalita: Though how on earth he even thought of it a matter worth researching. Sugar.. Yikes.

    km: ROTFL!

The Enigma: I think the weight watching industry sponsors this stuff so they can get more business.

    Sangeeta: Sentiments exactly.
