On fathers etc.

For years, in the dining room of that lovely house in RK Puram, there hung a small picture. With sunset, water and a bird. Almost Jonathan Livingston Seagullish. On it were words in black – Your father knows what you need before you ask him 1. For the longest time I thought that was a figment of Biblical imagination. Or worse still, patriarchal tripe. Today, in conversation with my Dad, I suddenly remembered how for years the little picture had hung there. And how on some days, the truth of it (for me anyway) seems to make everything easier.

  1. Good quote. I am very fortunate, my dad knows what we (my sibling & I ) want, all the time.
Is this RK puram in Chennai? I have very fond memories of that place. I grew up there.

Sometimes you find exactly what you need, when you need it. I really needed to read that verse. Thank you.
