I saw this cutie in Edinburgh, chomping over some stuff, on the edge of a trashcan. I wish I had framed this photograph a bit better, but the cutie was in rapid hurry. It took me some time to get over the size of this sqiurrel. I am used to those tinier ones in India that are rather tiny compared to the plump and large one in this picture. Nor did it appear to have the trademark kodu (lines) on its back.

Its a very good pic. Really cute.
When you were in Edinburgh did you happen to attend a meeting of The Sunday Philosophy Club, I’m sure they will take you in as an honorary member, as for me I love being an imaginary member or imaginary clubs.
Neha check out the ones in Regents park , they are so bloody cheeky. Often enough you see the kids running scared when these chipmunks try to get the food in the kids hands. I’ve totally gone off them nowadays.
From what I know, these squirrels are bigger with no stripes, and the ones in India are the smaller ‘chipmunks’ (which are striped). Good close-up picture BTW, considering how touchy those buggers are sometimes.
Mohib: Thankoo.
Akshay: I am an imaginary member of some imaginary clubs. Thanks for that link!
WA: Actually I find these large ones a bit scary. :)
Anand: Cheeky touchy bugger.
Ooh, another squirrel photographer! They are so appealing, when they aren’t demanding to be fed, or eating your garden…
