    Megha: I agree. It’s interesting that an entire carnival is devoted to it. Strong and insightful posts. But does leave you with a sense of sadness somewhere..

    Neha,True..There is certainly a lot of sadness,trauma and all that (now softened may be by the passing of time) underneath many of those posts that I found it ironical even to use the word ‘carnival’ to refer to this.

    I wish that they called it something else. ‘Sexual violence’ sounds fetishist in some circles.

    That said, it is good. And it’s not just women who are victims, male victims are also out there from abusive relationships.

    I’d write more, but my girlfriend might hit me. :-) (just kidding….)

    Taran: If that term sounds like a fetish to someone – I certainly wouldn’t want to do anything with those circles. No? I agree. Both women and men do get abused in relationships. But abuse itself.. is perpetuated largely by patriarchal institutions.
