.. water

Incredible, but I haven’t able to blog for a while now. Like I said once, blogging is like potty. You have to do it everyday, or doom yourself to suffer from some kind of emotional-social-almost physical constipation.

It’s been pouring for some days now. And Bombay becomes almost a uniform shade of gray. The sea roars these days. We can hear it through the night, and especially well in the morning hours. The sea is strange though. It takes on an incredible range of colours and moods. Still blue, with white frills for waves, and on certain days like these, a brown-gray amalgam, that thrashes and gazes longingly at the mangrove.

Everywhere you are invaded by the sights of strangers’ feet and legs, wading in mud and balancing bags and umbrellas. Traffic cops in bright yellow raincoats.

Rain crashing down in sheets.

And inside, humbled by the roar of a water body and the slice of falling blessings, we make tea and exchange childhood stories.
