A sudden realization about the terminology ‘breakneck’ speed. Over the last one week, I have:
1. Gone to Delhi for a trip that lasted just about 48 hours.
2. Flown for dirt cheap rates to Delhi and back on Spice Jet.
3. Had the scare of maybe losing 250 odd books because Spice Jet stapled baggage tags on a cardboard box!!
4. Seen Bunty aur Babli and loved it. This is like Sholay, except Dharmendra is more beautiful, has boobs and weeps for mommy. I just wish they had come up with more innovative scams.
5. Seen Hazaron Kwaishen Aisi and loved it.
6. Bumped into a friend last seen three years back in the airport, and has since become a Miss India (4th place), and now hosts a show on Zoom. She has, as she self-confessed, become a Bimbette. I am happy for her. And happier for me.
7. Met an old teacher of mine, Adi Mish, and felt delirious joy. She’s the only person from school who gives me a happy high when I meet her. :) We got lovely wedding gifts from her. And we also ate homemade chocolate cake. (wow!)
8. Met some 5 to 6 assorted friends in Delhi. (All unplanned really!)
9. Gotten the final offer letter from Sri’s company. We move there by the last week of June 2005. :) London, here we come.
10. Washed clothes, and dishes, as the Bai is on an idefinite strike/ leave.
11. Seen a major reshuffle in the Maharashtra IAS circles. (Good Fun really!)
Apart from this we also finally decided to grind our Dosa Dough and experiment. So far, its been readymade dough, or dosa mixes. This, is the result. This was our first dosa, and the the ones that followed were more geometrically satisfying (read, more round), and crisp/ soft as taste demanded. We had also made sambhar that day, and the meal was most amazing.
