A birthday wish for Sri.
Born on the night of the 1st. This is what he wrote to me in a mail, written in the year 2000.
Self was born on 1st Jan 1979(Sometime after 12 on the night of Jan1. Hence, technically speaking thats 2nd Jan 1979. But I like to celebrate my b’day on 1st Jan.).
Interestingly, kids born on Jan 1st 1979(year of the child) were given some
kind of a scholarship. But poor self missed it by a whisker. Koi naa bade bade logon ke saath choti choti baaten hoti rehteen hain. (Trans: Doesn’t matter. Small things happen to big people!)
So I wish him once on the 1st of Jan, and then again on the 2nd of Jan. :)
As always, will dedicate this song to Sri. A perfect birthday song. Thanks to Bob Dylan, but far more sonorous when you hear the cover by Joan Baez. Next year Sri, maybe I’ll sing it for you. :)
